SHE JOINED A SUPPORT GROUP BECAUSE OF HER HUSBAND'S VIDEO GAME ADDICTION
She has had to go to some crazy lengths to save her husband from his World of Warcraft game addiction. She confessed on Harry Connick Jr.'s talk show while giving relationship advice that she had to join a support group called Widows of Warcraft to understand her husband's addiction to the game.
Her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. had gotten into a video game obsession with warcraft, which pretty much disturbed the Buffy star motivating her to search for a solution. Her move motivated more women to seek help on how to communicate with their husbands about their video game habits.
SHE KEEPS HER PRIVATE LIFE OUT OF THE SPOTLIGHT
Gellar has perfected keeping her life private. She rarely makes the headlines, and worst of all doesn't hang with the other celebrities a lot making her very invisible. This possibly explains her awful luck in scoring roles on the big films noting that she has acted on a bunch of very forgetful movies.
Well, as she strives to stay private, she is doing quite a remarkable job parenting her kids, often participating in house chores. The award-winning actress even has a list of rules that her kids live on, like 'No payment for chores.' She's still a success in business, but maybe she'd land bigger roles if she mingled more with the big guys.
SHE MARRIED HER CO-STAR
Gellar met her husband, on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer, and tied the knot in 2002. The two started as friends before they decided to start dating, giving their relationship a great base. She jokingly revealed the secret to her 17-year long marriage as not sharing a bathroom and having different shopping credit cards.
The couple has two children, Rocky James Prinze, seven and Charlotte Grace Prinze,9. Their happy marriage is also attributed to their long friendship while on set before they officially started dating in 2000.
SHE WAS NEVER BANNED FROM MCDONALD'S
Contrary to what everyone thinks, McDonald's never banned Gellar from eating at their eateries. The lawsuit was, however, real. She featured in an ad by Burger King, stating that she only eats there because the burgers are so much bigger than McDonald's. The company's big slip was naming its competitor in the commercial sparking a heated lawsuit.
The case didn't last, but Gellar was involved by being summoned to testify to the truth of her words in the advertisement. The case became unrealistic, and the charges got dropped though Gellar was left in a dilemma about going to McDonald's since she was then known as the face of Burger king
SHE HAS CELEBRITY HIGH SCHOOL CLASSMATES
Having been born and schooled in New York, Gellar had many famous classmates during her high school years. Her classmates at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School include Macaulay Culkin, Tara Reid, Jerry O'Connell, Christina Ricci. Celebrities in other years were Vera Wang and Buddy Rich.
The young star struggled through high school and was even bullied for her nerdy looks. She, however, had to drop out of school due to acting obligations. She went on to join Professional Children's School for children performing in the New York theater, which suited her busy life better.
SHE BRUSHED SHOULDERS WITH KIM KARDASHIAN
She earned herself a spot on Kim Kardashian's long list of famous haters with a tweet. You'll probably not spot her posting often on social media, but when she does, it's big. In 2014 she sparked it with her diss tweet slamming Vogue for choosing Kim Kardashian as their cover for the issue.
She started the feud with a tweet saying that she's cancelling her subscription. Unexpectedly, she got a line up of responses from Kim's fans, with most concluding that the actress was reacting out of jealousy.
SHE'S NOT ON ACTIVE SOCIAL MEDIA
This is one way Sarah Michelle manages to keep her family affairs from the tabloids. She is not much of a social media fan. She does, however, use social media to publicize her company's products once in a while. Like the family shots, she had in the kitchen with her kids for a new Foodstirs product test.
Recently she opened up and spoke out, expressing her fear of her kids getting old enough to go on social media. Having managed to keep her personal life, private can't be easy, but it does help the actress to keep her family together.
SHE'S RECEIVED DEATH THREATS OVER BUFFY
Sometimes in the show, the storyline is just too good that one can't help but get absorbed into it. That's how deep the fans got absorbed by Gellar's portrayal of Buffy Summers in WB series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Years after the show ended, Buffy finally revealed who she liked more between Angel and Spike to put the fans at ease. The pesky fans even went as far as issuing death threats to not only Gellar but also her husband, telling him to leave Buffy.
SHE'S HAD SERIOUS NAME CHANGE PROBLEMS
After her marriage in 2002, the actress changed her name to Sarah Michelle Prinze, marking the start of her name confusion problems. The star missed her flight because her pass got printed with her birth name, yet her ID says different. At one time, she had to call out the FBI and TSA at the airport to help her out.
She even got stopped by security at Warner Bros studio lot because they got her name wrong. Despite her face being on the big billboard right in front of them, they just couldn't let her get to the studio.
SHE HAS MANY FILMS AND SHOWS UNDER HER BELT
He acclaimed actress won five teen choice awards and a Golden Globe nomination for her starring role as Buffy. Unfortunately, she's not getting the same positive vibes from her audience anymore. Ringer didn't get the expected reception from viewers, and she too agreed that the show was way ahead of its time.
Then followed her last show, The Crazy Ones, that ended sooner than expected. The entrepreneur has since been working on her company, Foodstirs, launched in 2015. She has, however, announced a comeback next year with a leading role on two shows, Other People's Houses by FOX and Sometimes I Lie by Ellen DeGeneres's production company.
